42-year-old Melanie Jane Smith is charged with four counts of murder, one count of arson with intent to endanger life and threats to commit criminal damage, following a fire in Prestatyn on Friday 19th October. She denies the charges.

Fifth person dies following Prestatyn fire

North Wales Police have confirmed that Liam Leonard Timbrell has passed away this morning at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.

The 23-year-old had been in a critical condition since the fire swept through his home in Maes y Groes, Prestatyn, on Friday 19th October.

Liam was the partner of Lee-Anna Shiers, and the father of 15-month-old Charlie, who both died as a result of the fire. Lee-Anna’s niece and nephew, Skye and Bailey Allen, also lost their lives in the incident.

This is the fifth death as a result of the fire in Prestatyn. My sincere condolences go out to the families at this tragic time.
