1. Wales

Wales 12 - 14 Australia

After six defeats on the trot, Wales took on Australia looking for a win to avoid dropping to the third tier of seeds for the draw of the next World Cup. But it ended with more heartache for Welsh fans.

Full time: Wales 19 - 26 Samoa

Wales are beaten for the second weekend in a row. Samoa secure another famous victory at the Millennium Stadium.

It looked as though a late penalty miss by Tusi Pisi might hand Wales a lifeline, but, with three minutes left to play, Samoa score their third try of the night. Leigh Halfpenny can't quite retrieve a kick through and centre Johnny Leota touches down before celebrating wildly.

Wales have no answer, and those Samoan celebrations are repeated at the final whistle.
