Court hears from mother accused of murder

Cardiff Crown Court has heard from the mother accused of murdering her seven year old son Yaseen and perverting the course of justice by setting fire to his body. Sara Ege said that she had enrolled onto a Masters course at University in June 2000 and was married in August 2000.

Her defence barrister Peter Murphy QC asked her whether it was she or her family who wanted her to get married; 'my family wanted me to get married, particularly my Mum.' she said.
