A man, 43, and a woman, 23, from the Cwmbran area arrested on suspicion of the murder of one month old Amelia Jones have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Police were called to a property at Waun Hywel Road, Pontnewydd on Saturday by ambulance crews. Amelia was pronounced dead at the University of Wales, Cardiff, on Monday.
In regards to Amelia Rose, my beautiful daughter, who passed away on Monday the 19th of November, she will be sadly missed, and brought me joy in the short time she was here. My family and I wish to assist Gwent Police in any possible way to establish why this tragedy occurred. We ask to be left as a family to grieve at this hard time.
