There's some lovely sunshine out there, but enough cloud to see a few showers too. They may well become more widespread this afternoon with some wintry showers on higher ground. Highs of 5-8C but add in a brisk breeze and it will feel cold.
Tonight temperatures drop to around zero in many places, any showers could fall on cold surfaces to cause icy patches on untreated roads and pavements. Later on some more showers arrive in the north. These are likely to be wintry in nature, even at lower levels.
There is cold air behind the showers but clearer weather too. Some lovely winter sunshine for Wednesday but again more showers which could be wintry. It will feel even colder than today.
