Vale of Glamorgan Council set up emergency 'Flood room'

The Vale of Glamorgan Council have set up a special "flood room" to deal with problems caused by flooding in the run-up to Christmas.

The team has been liaising with the council's visible services, contact centre, public protection and communications departments to deliver sandbags to residents, co-ordinate road closures, arrange temporary repairs to flood-damaged roads and ensure residents are kept informed and supported.

Staff will continue to monitor the situation throughout the holiday period.

Sully Moors Road and Hayes Road are both expected to remain closed until after Christmas. Alternative routes should be used when travelling between Barry and Sully/Lavernock.
