Holyhead coastguards have been searching waters around Newry Beach after receiving reports that items of men's clothing had been discarded on the shoreline.
The call came at 06:53 GMT from a member of the public who reported seeing a hooded top and jeans.
The Holyhead Coastguard team and inshore lifeboat say they have now returned to base and await further updates from North Wales Police who are also assisting with the search.
