Plans to revive Victorian piers at either end of Wales

Now, could 2013 be the 'year of the pier'? Steps are finally being taken to rescue two of Wales' most iconic ones - Penarth and Colwyn Bay.

Work has already started in Penarth, with plans to re-open before the end of this year.

Meanwhile the pressure group trying to secure Colwyn Bay pier's future are set to re-submit their bid for lottery funding, and have held an exhibition, showing locals exactly what the plans for the revamped pier will look like. From there, Ian Lang reports.
