502 people around Wales tested positive for drink-driving, or failed or refused to be breath-tested, during a month-long crackdown over Christmas. That's a fall of 43 when compared with the same month a year earlier.
All four of Wales' police forces joined together in the campaign, from 1 December to 1 January. More than 35,000 motorists were tested - that's an increase of 7,700 from 12 months before.
- South Wales Police - 3,703 tested - 103 positive, refused or failed to be tested
- Dyfed-Powys Police - 11,075 tested - 200 positive, refused or failed to be tested
- Gwent Police - 1,935 tested - 39 positive, refused or failed to provide to be tested
- North Wales Police - 17,870 tested - 107 positive, refused or failed to be tested
