Malky Mackay reserved special thanks for Cardiff City's fans, after victory at Blackpool moved his side 10 points ahead at the top of the Championship. There were more than 900 at Bloomfield Road, many on more than a 470-mile round trip from South Wales.
'I really can't thank them enough for coming up here because the noise they produced the whole night was fantastic and I’m really pleased that they are going back with the three points', he said. 'I’m absolutely delighted. I thought we were excellent tonight.'
Mackay said that recording a fourth away win in succession showed his side's 'steeliness and determination.' As for the promotion charge: 'at the moment it’s just making sure you look at the next team in front of you and work the way we have been, working consistently.'
