A video of a three-year-old from Caerleon reciting the Thai alphabet has got more than 2 million views on YouTube.
Dylan Hall was born in Bangkok, but moved back to Wales with his parents in 2010.
His mother Passamon said she's teaching Dylan the Thai language to enable him to communicate with relatives back in Thailand.
His father Peter said: "We weren't expecting the videos of Dylan to become an internet sensation. I guess a little bit of linguistic pride, a bit of happiness and good timing conspired to make our story newsworthy."
"The Thai alphabet Dylan is reciting in that particular video is complex - it has 44 consonant sounds, and each sound has a word plus a rhyme or a line of a poem. Children in Thailand don't usually learn at that level until they're around seven."
