Wintry start but drier later

A cold night last night saw some parts of Wales receive a sprinkling of snow and there may be a little more snow before the weather turns a little milder later this week.

A few wintry showers will linger through Tuesday morning following on from overnight and it will be a cold start to the day too. There may be some slippery surfaces around. Later in the day the remaining showers should die away to leave a cold, grey and overcast afternoon. Highs again from 2-5C.

There will be some more rain pushing across Wales through Tuesday night into Wednesday, the leading edge of this may well bring some transient snow before turning to rain. Wednesday itself is expected to be a wet day before the weather turns a little milder towards the end of the week.
