Cardiff City have brought in central defender Leon Barnett on a one-month loan from Premier League side Norwich.
The 27-year-old will join up with the squad on Friday, and the Bluebirds are hoping paperwork will be completed in time for him to line up against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The deal comes after Mark Hudson picked up an ankle injury against Leicester on Tuesday, with fellow centre back Ben Turner also an injury worry.
Malky Mackay said "Leon is an experienced defender and will add quality to our ranks over the coming weeks."
"He’s quick, aggressive and a combative player – an excellent professional who has been involved in promotion pushes and is a good lad too. I would like to thank Chris Hughton and Norwich City for their help in bringing Leon in, it’s very much appreciated.”
