Winter not ready to say goodbye yet!

Today: A chilly start with some frost, ice and fog patches in places. Then occasional bright or sunny spells, and a scattering of showers, some heavy with the risk of hail or sleet, and falling as snow over the hills. Maximum Temperature 7 °C.

Tonight: Further showers overnight, still some heavy ones, and the potential for significant accumulations of snow, mainly but not exclusively over hills. Clear spells between the showers allowing another chilly night. Minimum Temperature -1 °C.

Wednesday: Still a scattering of wintry showers, but tending to ease as the day goes on, so largely dry by evening. Feeling cold. Maximum Temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Winds strengthening on Thursday, with outbreaks of rain and snow spreading from the southwest. Strong winds and persistent snow possible on Friday and Saturday, especially in the north.
