It has been confirmed that Britain’s leading televised cycle race series, The Tour Series, will return to Aberystwyth for a third successive Summer in May.

The UK’s top professional teams will head to Aberystwyth on 24th May for Round Four of the 2013 season, with the likes of Olympic Champion Ed Clancy and The Tour of Britain’s SKODA King of the Mountains winner Kristian House both former winners of the Welsh event.

The leader of Ceredigion County Council, Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, welcomed the news saying she was "pleased to see that Aberystwyth is once again able to host popular cycling events."

"The race last year was well supported by locals and by the cycling enthusiasts who came from afar to cheer all the competitors and the children’s event. The seafront and promenade is an excellent backdrop and venue to welcome competitors to Aberystwyth.”

The event will be part of the Aberystwyth Cycle Festival.
