West Wales drop-in and school MMR clinics

An MMR drop-in clinic will be held in Llanelli on Saturday, and all comprehensive schools in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion will host vaccination catch-up sessions, the local health board has announced.

Hywel Dda Local Health Board says Llanelli is "currently the focus of special measures to protect the population", due to its "close proximity to the outbreak centred in Swansea."

To date there has been a fantastic response by parents to our plea to fully protect their child against Measles.

Whilst the clinic is open to all, and we won’t turn anyone away, we are particularly keen for children and young people in the Llanelli and Ammanford areas aged 12 months to 18 years who have not received two MMR vaccinations in the Llanelli and Ammanford areas to attend.

– Teresa Owen, Director in Public Health at Hywel Dda Local Health Board
