Mark Bridger 'viewed images of local young girls'

On the afternoon of October 1st, the jury heard, Mark Bridger viewed and downloaded a series of images of local young girls, as well as viewing an indecent image online.

The court also heard more text messages were exchanged between Mr Bridger and his ex-girlfriend throughout the afternoon.

It's claimed he also contacted three other women that afternoon to ask them out on a date.

The jury heard April had been to school and for a swimming lesson at the local leisure centre that day, before she disappeared.

April Jones murder trial

Mark Bridger has been jailed for life for the abduction and murder of five-year-old April Jones from Machynlleth. The 47-year-old was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice. The judge said he will never be released from prison.
