300 new workers for extra shift at Anglesey meat plant

300 additional jobs have been secured at a meat processing plant at Llangefni on Anglesey.

2 Sisters Food Group says the introduction of a new shift will help meet customer requirements while securing the site's long-term future.

Two major supermarkets are sourcing more meat locally, so production is about to begin around-the-clock.

2 Sisters says it will look to fill its new posts with some of the 400 workers made redundant at Welsh Country Foods in Gaerwen in April.

The Unite Union says 2 Sisters has "chosen to set-up a two-tier workforce", paying a lower rate to the workers it hires than employees currently get.
