Assistant coach Shaun Edwards says a narrow victory over Japan on Saturday was a "tremendous" achievement for a young Welsh side.

Wales, led by Robin McBryde this summer and missing rafts of players to the Lions tour of Australia, came through 22-18.

"A lot of the lads in the team hadn't played a lot of Test match rugby and hadn't played in a number of weeks, and factor in the heat and humidity, it was a good result."

"We got on with the job, showed a lot more fluidity in the second half. We battled it out and we have a lot to be proud of."
