Welshpool's independent Pola cinema closes after 75 years

Over the last 75 years, it has brought a little bit of Holywood glamour to Mid Wales. But tonight, Welshpool's Pola Cinema will show its final two films, before closing its doors.

Three generations of the same family have run it - but now it's been beaten by falling audiences and the high cost of going digital.

Welshpool cinema's final bow

An independent cinema which opened in Welshpool in 1938 will show its final films tonight. The Pola has been run by three generations of the same family - but they say competition from multiplex cinemas has seen audiences fall.
