The Welsh Government has appointed the first science 'star' as part of a £50m initiative to establish Wales as a centre for research excellence.
Yves Barde - a 'world-leading' neurobiologist - will join Cardiff School of Biosciences from the University of Basel through the Sêr Cymru initiative.
