Glamorgan T20 campaign ended by Gloucestershire

Glamorgan have missed out on a place in the T20 quarter finals for the fifth year running after a nine wicket loss in their final Midlands, Wales and West group match against Gloucestershire at the Swalec Stadium.

A win from either of the last two games could have seen Glamorgan through to the knockout stages of the competition for the first time since 2008.

After losing the toss Glamorgan and being put into bat Glamorgan coach Mathew Mott chose to shake-up his batting lineup and open with overseas player Marcus North (20) in place of wicket keeper Mark Wallace.

Together with Jim Allenby (85*) the pair put on 55 in the first 8 overs, before North departed, bowled by Benny Howell.

From there only Allenby was able to make a meaningful impression as Murray Goodwin (11) was the only other batsman to make double figures as Glamorgan posted 141-5 from their 20 overs.

In reply Gloucestershire's opening pairing of Michael Kilnger (86*) and Chris Dent (25) took the visitors to 66 for the opening wicket before Australian Dan Christian (25) came to the fray to finish off the pursuit with Klinger.
