Thousands of students across Wales will receive their A Level results later. Last year there were more than 37,000 A level examination entries, with 97.6 per cent resulting in grades A* to E, just below the UK average of 98 per cent.
2012 results for Wales:
75 per cent passed with C grade or above (UK average 76.6)
49.9 per cent received A* to B grades (UK: 52.6)
23.6 per cent scored A or A* (UK: 26.6)
six per cent got A* grades (UK: 7.9)
