Police appeal for information after Newport arrest

Police have re-appealed for information after a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting incident in Newport last Tuesday.

Officers are continuing to make enquiries to locate the firearm used in the incident, as well as a dark coloured 4x4 jeep type vehicle that was seen driving along Chepstow Road and onto Beechwood Road in the direction of St Julians and Christchurch.

Newport shooting incident

A 24-year-old Newport man has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder following a shooting incident in September. Two men, aged 20 and 22, have previously been charged with attempted murder. Three remain on bail.
