Community councillor Alban Rees says he finds the death of six-day-old baby Eliza-Mae Mullane "almost unbelievable".
"We live in a mining area, we are used to mining tragedies - but this is totally different", he said.
"Seven days ago I am sure that the family was highly elated with the birth and addition to their family - then all of a sudden the young one has been taken away from them."
