Town parade honours Army unit's homecoming

A special parade and medal ceremony will take place in Risca town centre in Newport to honour the 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital who will parade to mark the unit's homecoming from a tour of duty in Afghanistan as part of Operation Herrick.

More than 100 Army personnel, around 30 Cadets and The Band and Corps of The Royal Welsh will be parading through the town and it is anticipated that thousands of residents and visitors will show their support for the unit.

The parade will start at 11:50 am at Risca Primary School.
