When Gethin Jenkins walks out onto the Millennium Stadium pitch this afternoon he will become Wales' most capped player ever.

His coaches believe he has made a massive impact on world rugby.

His 105th appearance today, against Scotland, will see him overtake Stephen Jones at the top of the Wales all-time appearance table.

"Gethin is one of the most intelligent rugby players in his position in the history of the game," Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards said.

He has also toured three times with the British and Irish Lions in 2005 and 2009 as well as last summer's series winning tour to Australia.

Head Coach Warren Gatland, has stuck with the Cardiff Blues prop despite a challenging afternoon last time out against England at Twickenham, a performance which saw him sin-binned for perceived infringements in the scrum by referee Romain Poite.

Gatland though is confident that his go-to loosehead can draw on his now record breaking experience to overcome those issues against the visiting Scots.
