Man appears in court charged with River Taff murder

28-year-old Gareth Wyn Jones has appeared in court charged with murdering David Alun Lewis. Mr Lewis's body was found partially submerged in the River Taff on 19th March.

Grangetown murder probe: Dead man named as David Alun Lewis

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a man's body partly submerged in the River Taff in Grangetown, Cardiff.

The dead man has been named as David Alun Lewis, 45, from Ystrad Mynach.

David Alun Lewis has been described as "a good, decent man"

Police were alerted by an anonymous call made just before midnight on Wednesday from a phone kiosk on Clare Road, Grangetown.

A post mortem examination is continuing to find the cause of Mr Lewis' death.
