Family pay tribute to man shot dead in South Africa

The family of a British man who was shot dead in a burglary in South Africa said they are "devastated".

Jeremy Brooke, 32, was on holiday with friends in a remote farmhouse when armed men burst in and opened fire. He died in hospital several hours later.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the murder in the Transkei region of South Africa.Jeremy's family, who live in Bridgend, said: "Jeremy had a passion for life which enriched the lives of everyone who knew him.

"Jeremy loved South Africa and it is regretful that such senseless and criminal violence is robbing the country of so many valuable, proud citizens."The family spokesman added: "Shocked as we are, we would like to express our gratitude for the support we have received."
