Former Wales international Gerald Davies has written to Welsh clubs confirming he will not stand for re-election to the WRU board when his tenure is up.
The 69-year-old gave an impassioned speech to club delegates and fellow board members at last month's Extraordinary General Meeting of the Welsh Rugby Union in which the current regime overwhelmingly survived a vote of no confidence brought upon them after a campaign by David Moffett.
