Welsh made cartoon hero SuperTed is set to return to our television screens.
The 80's children's show will return with 26 new episodes being made by original creator Mike Young, who is hoping Melvyn Hayes and Derek Griffiths will return and resume their roles.
Young came up with the character to help his son overcome his fear of the dark. He told the Radio Times, "In SuperTed, we had a gun-slinging cowboy and a fat guy who had jokes made about his weight. These things you just wouldn't do today. But you can still write the show in a funny way."
Mike was determined to keep SuperTed Welsh and he set up Siriol Animation with his wife, to procure the series locally, which first aired in1982 on S4C in Welsh. The following year, it was dubbed into English and broadcast throughout the UK.
After an absence of 30 years, the superhero is set to return to the small screen in 2016.
