Rescuers searching for a missing 30-year-old French tourist on a 3,000ft Welsh peak found a body on Wednesday afternoon

The holidaymaker had failed to return to his hotel at Bala, Gwynedd, on Sunday.

Police discovered his car in the Minffordd car park, popular with visitors to Cader Idris, near Dolgellau.

Aberdyfi and South Snowdonia search teams, three search dogs and a coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon scoured the mountain for him.

Our sympathies go out to the friends and family of this man who lost his life far from home.
