Bike thefts in Bristol have increased in recent months. The police have investigated twenty eight incidents in March where high value bikes have been targeted by thieves. Most of the cyclists who have had their bikes stolen were cycling in Leigh Woods and the Ashton Court area. It's thought that some may have been followed home before having their bikes stolen.

DC Caroline Stainer works for the Priority Crime Team, she is advising people to be vigilant when cycling and to take down a registration number if they believe they are being followed.

The Police have arrested four people in connection with bike thefts in the area.

You can read more about the arrests on the Avon and Somerset Constabulary website.
