Toddler in hospital after being mauled by dog

A two-year-old boy's in hospital with serious facial injuries after being mauled by a dog in Wiltshire. The toddler was taken to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol after the attack in a neighbour's garden in Swanage Walk in Swindon. He's in a stable condition.

It's thought the boy, named as 2 year old Kieron Guess, had somehow managed to get from his own garden to the neighbours. A 49 year old man has also received treatment for an arm injury.

The owner of the dog has given the animal over to the police and it will be destroyed.

We spoke to the son of the dog owner, who said his father did everything he could to help the situation.

The police say there will be no arrests in connection with the incident.
