Cribbs Causeway's expansion plans

The biggest retail destination in the South West could be getting bigger.
Thirteen million people spend half a billion pounds a year at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway.
To cope with future demand, the owners want to expand by up to two thirds its current size, with another flagship store key to the development.
South Gloucestershire Council is currently examining the feasibility of such a move as part of its future retail policy.
But other retail centres in the area, such as Broadmead in Bristol and Weston-super-Mare are concerned with the effect it will have on their trade.

Cribbs Causeway threatens all that and does threaten local shops.
Planners will not have to make any decisions until late summer at the earliest.
While supporters say expansion would secure The Mall's future viability, others are asking at what cost?
