Balloon causes chaos in the Cotswolds

Roads were closed and electricity supplies switched off when a huge Kentucky Fried Chicken balloon caused chaos after blowing away from a restaurant in the Cotswolds.Fire crews were called to Kempsford near Fairford, when the giant display balloon got tangled in overhead power cables.

The fire fighters from Fairford were faced with the flyaway balloon leaking its helium gas and 'thrashing dangerously against the road.'The road was closed through Kempsford and the area was cordoned off to avoid danger to motorists.

Southern Electric were also called to the scene and staff isolated the electric cables so fire fighters could safely untangle the balloon.Crews spent two hours at the scene.
