Wiltshire Council has been accused of letting Britain's most invasive plant grow out of control.

Local resident Austen Espeut says Japanese Knotweed on the banks of the River Avon in Chippenham is not being treated often enough.

The plant can grow as much as 10cm a day and as high as 10ft.

Wiltshire Council say the site is on their treatment schedule of three times a year. Anyone who sees it on council land should report it rather than try to remove it, because it can make the situation worse.
