17 sports projects get Olympic legacy funding
£966,849 of Olympic legacy funding has been allocated to 17 different projects across the area.
- Taunton Athletics Club will receive £50,000 to build a new clubhouse.
- Yeovil Bowling, Squash and Tennis Club will receive £50,000 for air conditioning and building modernisation.
- Orchard Gymnastics in Somerset will receive £50,000 for building refurbishment and expansion.
- St Michael's School in Somerset will receive £20,000 for a replacement community swimming pool.
- £50,000 has been allocated to revamp the Nether Stowey Recreation Ground
- Taunton Deane Borough Council will receive £125,858 for the Wellington Pavilion Project
- Clevedon Sailing Club will receive £50,000 for club refurbishment
- Cleeve Cricket Club will receive £46,674 for coaching and to upgrade the practice facility
- Bristol Ariel Rowing Club will receive £50,000 to improve the club facilities by building changing rooms
- King Edmund Acrogymnastics will receive £50,000 for a new Acrogym
- Tubbs Turf Management Committee in Gloucestershire will receive £34,317 for a pavilion extension
- Old Sodbury Football Club hwill receive £50,000 for the village sports pavilion project
- Riverside Youth Project and BroadPlain WWYP will receive £50,000 for the youth project
- Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre will receive £40,000 to refurbish the artificial sports surface
- The University of Bristol will receive £150,000 for a new boathouse project
- Trowbridge Westbourne Sports Club will receive £50,000 for new facilities
- Supermarine Sports and Social Club will recieve £50,000 to upgrade floodlighting
