Sailors who have raised £5,000 the Poppy Appeal finished their journey in Bristol today by sailing down the Avon Gorge and into the Cumberland Basin.

The crew of six set sail from Exmouth and were hoping to raise a large sum for the Royal British Legion. They stopped off in 15 ports along the way to shake their collecting tins for the Legion which spends £1.7 million a week on providing support to injured service people.

The crew took their voyage to highlight that support is needed for the Royal British Legion all year round - not just in November during Remembrance Sunday.
