Firefighters remain at a 17th Century manor house in Wiltshire following a fire that started yesterday. They say around a third of the building has been severely affected by the fire and the whole building has been damaged by smoke.
The fire started in a bedroom and spread through a wing of the house. Damping down continued through the night. At the height of the fire, ten fire engines were at the scene.
An investigation into the cause is under way, but fire officers say some parts of the building are unsafe an that will make it difficult for them to get inside.
