It’s been the first week back at the ‘day job’ for Yeovil’s gold medal winning Heather Stanning.

Captain Heather Stanning, of 32 Regiment Royal Artillery, returned back to her base in Larkhill in Wiltshire on Monday after her fantastic achievement of winning the first Gold medal for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the women's double pair rowing competition with her partner, Cornwall's Helen Glover.

The 27-year-old was away from the Army for almost two years in her preparation for her Olympic bid.

Heather enjoyed fantastic support from her regiment who watched her go for gold on television in the mess at Roberts Barracks and thousands of miles away in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.
