The Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton has closed after 35 years. 55 staff will be made redundant. The venue has been host to musicians, actors and comedians and theatre-goers attending the last performance of Jane Eyre last night were surprised to hear the unexpected news.
Staff are still coming to terms with the news. Today they will return to the Brewhouse to clear up after what was the theatre's final performance for at least the time people.
There will be a vigil tonight to look back at the theatre's rich history, which has seen some of the greats starring at the Taunton venue.
It will be held at the Brewhouse at 7pm this evening. The Theatre sent out the tweet last night:
Please show your support for The Brewhouse by joining us for a candlelight vigil here tomorrow evening between 7-8pm to remember great times
