Bristol City's hopes of avoiding relegation from the Championship suffered a major set-back after they could only draw 1-1 with fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday at Ashton Gate.

Sean O'Driscoll's men have only picked up one point from a possible six over Easter.

Jermaine Johnson put the Owls ahead ten minutes before half-time. Sam Baldock equalised for City in the last minute, but they're now seven points from safety.

LEAGUE ONE

Swindon Town missed out on the chance to move into the automatic promotion places after losing at top-of-the-table Doncaster.

Both sides struggled on a difficult pitch. Alan McCormack and Dean Parrett fired over in the first half, but the home side dominated after the break.

Wes Foderingham had to be on top form to push Chris Brown's header wide. And from another set-piece, the goalkeeper tipped David Cotterill's free-kick over the bar.

Swindon couldn't hold on, and with ten minutes to go, former Bristol City defender Jamie McCombe - who scored vital goals to get City promoted to the Championship in 2007 - headed the winner to inch Doncaster a step closer to promotion.

Yeovil Town moved back into the League One play-off places after winning at Notts County.

Paddy Madden gave the Glovers the lead in first half stoppage time. Matt Dolan's shot was spilled by Fabian Spiess, and Madden was there to slam in the rebound.

The home side equalised just after the break. Alan Judge scored from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Dan Burn.

But Yeovil regained the lead three minutes later from Dolan's free-kick, which turned out to be the winning goal.

Gary Johnson's men occupy the final play-off position, two points above Tranmere, with a game in hand.

Cheltenham moved closer to the automatic promotion places after an important win over third-placed Northampton.

Steve Elliott scored the only goal of the game just before half-time. Northampton goalkeeper Lee Nicholls saved his initial header, but Elliott reacted quickest to the rebound.

Mark Yates' men are fourth in the table, level on points with the Cobblers who stay third.

Bristol Rovers scored three times in the opening 20 minutes at lowly Dagenham & Redbridge.

John-Joe O'Toole, on his final appearance for the Pirates before returning to his parent club, opened the scoring in the fourth minute. And just two minutes later, Oumare Tounkara rounded Jonathan Miles to double the advantage.

Danny Woodards side-footed a third, before Medy Elito pulled a goal back for the Daggers on the half hour.

Tounkara restored the three-goal cushion in the second half when he fired across goal and into the net via the post.

Jake Reed then tapped home Femi Ilesanmi's cross for a consolation.

Rovers move up one place to 13th.
