It was Bristol Academy's biggest game of the season, with the team on the verge of a remarkable achievement but once the game got underway, it was Liverpool who dominated proceedings.
Bristol goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain was certainly busy as she kept Liverpool out with a series of impressive saves but it was only a matter of time until the home side went ahead and they were given the perfect opportunity from the penalty spot.
Nicole Fors converted from the spot - and the goal meant Bristol needed to score twice to snatch the title from their opponents.
It never looked likely and the game was up for the Academy when Icelandic midfielder Katrin doubled Liverpool's lead in the second half.
Still, a second-placed finish represents an impressive season for the Bristol girls.
