Bath Rugby can confirm that Anthony Perenise will leave the Club at the end of the season to join Championship promotion hunters Bristol Rugby on a three-year deal. The 31-year-old Samoan international Perenise, who represented Samoa in the 2011 World Cup and joined Bath in 2011, has made nearly 70 appearances so far for the West Country side.

It’s been a tough decision to make, but I feel that signing for Bristol is the right move for me and my family. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Bath, having made some great friends, and I’d like to thank them and all the Bath supporters who have made my time here so good. Now the decision has been made, my focus is 100% on working hard and helping this squad achieve our aims for the rest of the season.

Bristol Rugby say they have added firepower to the front row with the arrival of the prop from Bath ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Standing at 6ft and weighing in at 18 stone, Anthony is a formidable individual. He’s a powerful scrummager with a great technical ability.

Aside from his obvious power, Anthony is quick and mobile – an attribute that we’ve seen him display regularly at Bath.

He’ll be a real asset to our pack next season and I’m delighted we’ve secured his services at Bristol Rugby.
