Queen's Birthday Honours List

Mary Berry, who grew up in Bath, has been recognised in the Queen's birthday honours list.

She has written more than 70 cookery books and appeared on dozens of television and radio shows.

Most recently she has been a judge on the TV show The Great British Bake Off.

Mary Berry spoke to The Westcountry Tonight on the eve of being made a CBE.

Then owners of Weston-super-Mare's pier, Michelle and Kerry Michael, have been given an MBE for their work in restoring it.

This report which went out on The West Tonight in July 2008 shows how badly the pier was destroyed by the fire.

Weston-super-Mare pier owners, Kerry and Michelle Michael are amongst those recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.They were awarded the MBE for services to the restoration of the Grand Pier after the fire which destroyed it in 2008.
