Olympics star Mary Rand will receive the freedom of the city of Wells in a special ceremony on Sunday.

A former Olympic gold medallist has been presented with the Freedom of Wells.
Mary Rand, who grew up in Wells, but now lives in America, became the first British female athlete to win a track and field Olympics gold medal, in the long jump at the Tokyo Games of 1964.
Today hundreds of people lined the streets to celebrate.

Mary Rand will be awarded the freedom of Wells today.
In the 1964 Olympic Games she became the first British female athlete to win gold in track and field events.
Ms Rand grew up in Wells, but now lives in America.
The Freedom of the city ceremony takes place in the town hall at 2pm and is followed by a procession to St Cuthbert's Church.
