The club's now hoping that Bristol City Council approve Sainsbury's plans for a new store at the current Memorial Stadium site, which would help fund its stadium plans.

Bristol Rovers' new 40 million pound stadium could become a reality today. Councillors in South Gloucestershire are meeting this afternoon to decide on the scheme. Planning officers have recommended it for approval.
The club wants to build the new ground on the northern fringe of the city, in partnership with the University of the West of England, which bought the land.
