A viewer has sent us this footage of one of the hot air balloons having a difficult landing in Bristol. Tim Pike was watching the Bristol Balloon Fiesta mass ascent last night on Durdham Downs when he saw the Woody Woodpecker balloon on a very low approach.
Tim says it nearly hit an ice cream van, people and cars but no one was hurt.
Around half a million people turned out for this year's Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Organisers say they are delighted with the success of the event. Despite high winds on Saturday and some damp weather five of the seven mass ascents went ahead.
The first mass ascent of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta took place early this morning in perfect flying conditions. Scores of balloons took off from Ashton Court and headed towards the Severn Estuary.
One of the craft even claimed a world record for the highest hot air balloon tea party, as Tanya Mercer reports.
Thousands of people descended on Ashton Court in Bristol last night for the night glow, one of the highlights of the city's balloon fiesta. Around 30 hot air balloons were lit up in time to music in the now world-famous spectacle.
