Thousands of people descended on Ashton Court in Bristol last night for the night glow, one of the highlights of the city's balloon fiesta.
Around 30 hot air balloons were lit up in time to music in the now world-famous spectacle. Events continue today with the first mass ascent of the festival going ahead this morning - weather permitting.
The 34th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta got underway today. More than half a million people are expected to attend over the next four days.
